Tundra Tours is a hiking guide service that provides guided hiking trips in Rocky Mountain National Park out of Estes Park, Colorado.
Tundra Tours offers 4 different ways you can participate in a trip. They are:
Have fun, of course! And be awe-inspired! On top of that, your guides will include sharing knowledge of the local history, flowers, trees, and of course, everyone's favorite...wildlife! There will be plenty of opportunities for photos and we will always keep our eyes peeled for wildlife! If we see wildlife while driving, when safe and a legal shoulder to pull over, we will stop and observe the wildlife from a safe distance. We typically expect to see plenty of elk, some mule deer, hopefully moose, sometimes turkeys, and plenty of other creatures such as marmots, pikas, or bighorn sheep. The wildlife in Rocky Mountain National Park is what keeps it alive!
For summer trips, you will be required to bring all of the listed equipment below for your hike. If you need to purchase or rent equipment, please do so at the Estes Park Mountain Shop (prior to your meeting time for your trip).
Tundra Tours recommends renting (such as child carriers or trekking poles) or purchasing items at The Estes Park Mountain Shop, which is the meeting location for all our trips. **Please plan accordingly and purchase and rent your equipment the day before or prior to your meeting time for the trip. Trips cannot be delayed due to your purchases. The EPMS is located at 2050 Big Thompson Ave, Estes Park, CO 80517. Phone: 970-586-6548. To see a full list of their rentals and more, please go to estesparkmountainshop.com.
**Please arrive five minutes early. We will meet-at and depart from the Estes Park Mountain Shop (EPMS) located at 2050 Big Thompson Ave, Estes Park, CO, 80517. Please park in the lower west-end parking lot of the building. This is where we will meet; by the "Bike Shop" door and outside picnic tables on the west-end of the building. We will go over driving directions to the trailhead at our meet-up location. You must provide your own transportation to the trailhead, however your guide will have 4 seats available in their guide vehicle. These seats cannot be reserved, however will be based on group needs when we meet. Due to limited parking at trailheads, carpooling is highly encouraged between guests, however please use your discretion. Clients may also be asked to drive guides. You must use restrooms at the EPMS and buy or rent any essential gear you may need for your hike prior to our meet time. This is not time for personal shopping. Please make all efforts to be prepared and have all equipment with on the list provided beforehand to ensure we can leave on time and provide a positive experience for everyone in the group. Guests may purchase or rent equipment/gear through the Estes Park Mountain Shop on their own accord. After the hike, as we leave the trailhead, we will return to the Estes Park Mountain Shop together at the end. Please make sure you return any rentals you got from the Estes Park Mountain Shop within the allotted time. *In agreement with the Estes Park Mountain Shop, Tundra Tours uses the Estes Park Mountain Shop as a meeting location only. The EPMS is not liable or responsible for any organization of trips booked with Tundra Tours through the Tundra Tours or KMAC website.
Please follow all posted signs in Rocky Mountain National Park. You may park in designated parking spots only.
