With 147 named lakes in Rocky Mountain National Park, there is no shortage of water. In fact, sub-alpine lakes make up some of the best day hikes with the most majestic views. With snow-capped mountains reflecting along the glass-like surface, you won't want to miss one of our most popular hikes. And, for the fly-fisher in you, bring your rod (and license) and throw a few casts in while we have a snack along the lake's shores.
This is considered a "3/4-day" hike. This hike will be approximately 8-hours round-trip, (*8-hour trip includes check-in, driving to/from trailhead, breaks, and approximately 5-hours of actual hiking).
